[ Honestly? Dylan's ignoring him too and has been for awhile. He continues to ignore him now, pressing close to Kaitlyn's side and enclosing her in his arms for a hug. Perhaps a bit tighter than he intended?
Because he knew she was coming, he took time to scrub in the shower and smells of some cheap soap he bought in the pharmacy when relocating because he just didn't care - not something that typically happens with him, especially now that he's so sensitive to events. It's not that he hasn't been showering but there was still dirt left in places from burying Laura. He probably scrubbed too hard, especially considering he can't actually use water but bullshit alternatives, but he's okay now. Or at least dirt free.
The dirt is gone as is the threat. Or was she ever a real threat at all?
He sighs a little and lets his arms fall loose. He doesn't bother to ask if she got meatless things for him, he trusts her to remember. His belief that Kaitlyn will always remember and always be there is so intristic to him, it's a pattern of love printed on his soul. ]
[Once she sets her things down, she doesn't hesitate to squeeze him back tightly. It really does seem like it's been a weirdly long time since she actually put her eyes on him. She's just gonna have to make sure they don't let that happen again.
Of course she remembered. She makes a point to cater to her people in all the little ways that matter the most.]
Thought you might agree. [She drops back down from her toes and goes to drop gracelessly onto Dylan's bed, pulling things out of the bag and separating them.]
[ Because that's what he's thinking of first. Of course it is. It's not like plaguing thoughts of this person aren't responsible for all the shitty eyebags or anything. He sighs, suddenly feeling heavy and drops onto the bed as well.
He leans into her and doesn't actually look at the food. He should eat. He really should. He was so ready to a moment ago. ]
Of course I did. Who do you think I am? [She chuckles a little as she sets the bag aside on a table. She lets the divided food on the bed wait, though, when Dylan slumps against her.]
Hey, freak. [Her voice is only full of fondness as wraps her arms around him and gives him a little squeeze again before she starts playing with his hair.] Thought we were gonna eat.
[She doesn't care what they do. She just wants her bestie to be okay, honestly.]
[ He picks up one of the wrapped foods - definitely the wrong kind, and that's weird because his sense of smell is so keen. He looks at it and sighs. He hasn't realized but he's not opening it, either. ]
She's gone, you know. But if Ryan doesn't even remember, do I have to carry it alone?
'Kay. [She leaves it at that, but doesn't stop carding her fingers through his hair, though. Watches the barely-there attempt at eating- abandoned almost immediately. She can think of more than one thing that might be screwing with his appetite, so it isn't TOO concerning. Y E T.]
Yeah, I know... He called me. He was...so lost and sounded so scared... [Which had been so... different than her other, recent interactions with him; it was jarring, and it had immediately spurred her into action to go find him, too.]
No, of course not. [She kisses the top of his head and rests her cheek there after a moment.] I know I wasn't there, but...I'll help you carry it, Dilly Bar. S'what I'm here for, you know?
